Kale Vanderwal

Campus Staff, Bellarmine university

Kale is a full-time staff member with Campus Outreach. He grew up in LaSalle, Colorado where he was home-schooled all through high school, worked for a dairy supply and service company, ran and coached long-distance Track & Field, and enjoyed watching his dad and brother race stock cars at the local NASCAR track.

Kale became a Christian when he was about seven years old while he was attending Galeton Community Church through the witness of his pastor and parents. His grandpa Alan studied the Bible regularly with him all through middle school and high school. From 2014 to 2017, he benefited from Riley Byers’ youth ministry, during which he learned more about evangelism and discipleship. He traveled to East Asia in 2016 with Riley, other youth, and several members from other churches. That trip ignited a new passion for bringing the gospel to the lost in other cultures.

After one year at Aims Community College, Kale moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 2018 to pursue a Business Administration degree at Boyce College. He grew a lot during his time there through Third Avenue Baptist Church, chapel services, and bible studies with his college friends.

After an evangelistic internship in Southeastern Europe in 2020, Kale became involved with Campus Outreach in the fall of 2020 out of a desire to reach unbelieving students with the gospel. He began attending regular meetings, had lunches with students, attended several retreats, and grew close to the staff team and his discipleship group.

Kale joined staff with Campus Outreach in October of 2022. He deeply appreciates CO’s commitment to the local church and life-on-life discipleship and is eager to spend a season of his life coming alongside college students and encouraging them to live boldly for Jesus.”
