I grew up in Frankfort, Kentucky in a loving family. I was never a part of a local church growing up, and having very few Christian friends I had virtually no exposure to the Gospel or to the Bible. It wasn’t until my freshman year of college at Eastern Kentucky University in 2010 that I met a man on staff with Campus Outreach who invested his life into mine, and introduced me to Jesus Christ. I learned of God’s holiness, my sinfulness, and the grace of God given to us at the cross, made available to us through resurrection of Jesus. Through the labors of that man, along with other Campus Outreach staff, I began a saving relationship with Christ that radically changed my life.
Over the next four years of college, Campus Outreach helped me become established in my faith and become equipped to lead men myself through discipleship and service. I grew in my understanding of who God is, my role in the local church, and what He has called me to do with my life. After having the opportunity to pour into younger men on campus as a student, I knew God was calling me into full time campus ministry. My wife, Amy, had a similar experience at EKU, and after our wedding in April of 2014, we came on staff with CO in hopes of seeing God reproduce what He has done in our lives at Georgetown College.
